We’ve applied for funding, which will help us to support the local artists who make Plot Twist happen, so fingers crossed! We’ve set up a website and online store where you can buy merch, and we’d love to hear what you think about Plot Twist, so leave feedback on the website! We’ve waded through a sludge of tedious (but important) paperwork, and of course, we’ve been busy prepping our events for 2025, starting with Vol. 4!

We’re also planning to do a series of smaller gigs in between our core events this year! Think two bands and two DJs in an intimate venue. We’ve got somewhere lined up - the team over at Riff Factory are creating a brand new space, and we can’t wait to get in there!

The crew have been out and about DJing and gigging as usual. Taryn recently DJed over at Electric Tentacle (check them out!) Eccie The Dog have been around town as usual, and took their first gig over in Whitchurch at Percy’s Bar with Dread Lagoon and Hytrin!

A lot of artists reach out to play, and we love to see it! We’re always on the lookout for bands, artists, and DJs we’ve never seen. Plot Twist isn’t about exclusivity, it isn’t about who’s top dog, who you are or how you look. Plot Twist is about fast, heavy, sometimes chaotic music. If we like your work, that’s all it takes! Plot Twist comes together on the common ground between punk and rave culture; it’s taking initiative, it’s building community, and it’s breaking down barriers between us and a future filled with exciting, grassroots culture.

Here’s a snippet of what we’ve been up to since last time...

We’ve made a huge leap and registered as a community interest company - this means we’re a legit not-for-profit company, committed to building on our musical community within SOT and the surrounding area. We’re eligible to apply for funding that we’re obliged to funnel directly into the musicians, the artists, and the events that bring our scene to life! See our social media for more info!

It’s been a team effort organising, promoting, merchandising, and wading through legalese to get Plot Twist Music CIC up and running, but shout out Purds, he’s been especially tireless with the latter. We’ve been gigging, DJing, supporting shows, volunteering, getting involved with Honeybox projects, and generally being very busy bees in your local scene. You might have even crossed Purds judging Metal 2 The Masses! Meanwhile, the Plot Twist crew have lined up a belter!

We're proud to announce that Plot Twist is now officially a Community Interest Company (CIC)!

Our team is made up of passionate individuals with experience in  event management, performing, and creating music and art. 

As a CIC we’re dedicated to serve the music community of Stoke-On-Trent and the surrounding area.  All profits we make go right back into projects that benefit local people - not private owners.

We want to bring the music community together by merging scenes and creating inclusive live events and spaces for people to connect and grow the community. 

But we're not stopping there..

We’re out to support musicians, artists, and creatives, by offering performance opportunities, promotional material, rehearsal spaces and more.  Including for people who lack access, and newer artists with less experience.

We’re offering a number of Community Tickets for our events - free tickets  for people who are struggling for funds to get out and access music events, and the social environment that comes with them.

We also collaborate with local graphic designers to create unique merchandise, building creative partnerships within our community. Look out for our zines, tees, stickers and more.

We're actively seeking funding to expand our impact even further, and bring our commitments to life.
